Massive Fire Destroys 1200 Shops in Plaza, Sindh CM Orders Investigation

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has been briefed by the Karachi Commissioner and South District Deputy Commissioner on the devastating fire at Gul Plaza.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that the fire broke out between 9:45 PM and 10:15 PM, engulfing more than 1,200 shops. Emergency response teams deployed 22 fire brigade vehicles, 10 water bowsers, and 4 snorkel trucks to control the blaze.

The tragic incident resulted in 6 fatalities and over 22 injuries, while the fire remained partially under control for several hours. Authorities reported that around 60 to 70 percent of the fire has now been contained.

Expressing deep grief over the loss of lives, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah extended his condolences to the families of the deceased. He also ordered a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire and emphasized the need for stronger preventive measures to avoid similar tragedies in the future.

This incident has highlighted the urgent requirement for improved fire safety and emergency preparedness in commercial areas across the city.
