Earthquake Shakes Rawalpindi, Islamabad and Other Cities in Pakistan
Residents of Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and several other cities in Pakistan experienced earthquake tremors earlier today, causing widespread fear and panic in affected areas.
According to the Seismic Center, the tremors were also felt in Hunza and surrounding regions, as well as across Gilgit-Baltistan. The earthquake registered a magnitude of 5.8, with an underground depth of 10 kilometers. Its epicenter was located in northwestern Kashmir.
The tremors were additionally reported in Ghizer and neighboring districts. Locals rushed out of homes and offices, reciting “Kalma Tayyiba” in fear, as the quake shook the northern territories of the country.
This incident follows similar seismic activity in the region just ten days ago, when Abbottabad and surrounding areas experienced tremors. Other areas, including Murree, Galiyat, and Skardu, were also affected, causing heightened concern among residents.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, urging the public to stay calm and follow safety protocols in case of aftershocks.
