Initial Video Shows Panic Evacuation During Gul Plaza Inferno

Initial interior views of the fire that broke out Saturday night at Gul Plaza, a famous shopping center located on Karachi’s MA Jinnah Road, have emerged.

The video shows people running in panic after the fire broke out.

In the video that emerged, a person can also be heard saying, “Leave everything and everyone and go outside. The situation upstairs is very bad; there is a very bad fire.”

It should be noted that the death toll in the Gul Plaza tragedy has reached 17, while 73 people are still missing after the incident.

According to the list released by the Sindh government’s help desk, several women are also among the missing persons.

The rescue officials says the fire in Gul Plaza has been almost brought under control and the cooling process is underway, while rescue personnel are also searching for missing persons.

On the other hand, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced that Rs 10 million will be given to the families of those killed in the Gul Plaza tragedy.
