Policeman Abdul Rehman Arrested and Dismissed in Lahore for Taking Bribe
LAHORE, January 19, 2026: A policeman, Abdul Rehman, was arrested and dismissed from service immediately for taking a bribe, reported 24NewsHD TV. The incident occurred while he was performing his duties at Ravi Road Police Station, Lahore.
Bribe Incident at Ring Road
According to a spokesman of the Deputy Inspector-General (DIG) Operations, Abdul Rehman accepted a bribe from a citizen near Ring Road, Lahore.
DIG Operations, Faisal Kamran, took notice of the case. He directed officials to arrest Abdul Rehman and terminate his service without delay.
“Wrongdoing by a single officer damages the reputation of the entire police force,” DIG Kamran said.
Zero-Tolerance Policy Against Corruption
DIG Kamran emphasized that the police department will not tolerate corruption under any circumstances. He instructed all officers to adhere strictly to ethical duties and warned that anyone misusing authority will face strict action.
He also urged citizens to report complaints immediately. “There is no place for corrupt elements in the police force,” he added.
