Security forces kill 41 Indian-Backed terrorists in Balochistan
RAWALPINDI: The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Friday that 41 Indian-backed militants were killed in two separate operations in Balochistan, as the army vowed to crush terrorism.
According to ISPR, the militants belonged to the Indian proxy groups Fitna al-Khwarij and Fitna al-Hindustan and were killed on January 29 during intelligence-based operations (IBO).
One operation took place on the outskirts of Harnai District, targeting Fitna al-Khwarij. During the operation, security forces engaged the hideout, and after an intense fire exchange, 30 Indian-sponsored Khwarij “were sent to hell”. A large cache of ammunition and explosives was recovered and destroyed on the spot.
Another operation in Panjgur District targeted Fitna al-Hindustan, resulting in 11 terrorists being neutralised. Weapons, ammunition, and looted money from a December 15, 2025 bank robbery were also recovered. These terrorists had been involved in multiple past attacks.
Sanitisation operations continue to eliminate any remaining India-sponsored militants in the area. ISPR said the “Relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision ‘Azm e Istehkam’ […] by security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out [the] menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.”
Pakistan has seen an increase in cross-border terrorist incidents since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in 2021, with KP and Balochistan being the most affected provinces.
ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that in 2025, 75,175 IBOs were carried out nationwide, including 14,658 in KP and 58,778 in Balochistan. During the year, 5,397 terrorism incidents were reported, and 2,597 terrorists were killed during counterterror operations. He added that Afghan militants were involved in all major attacks, which deliberately targeted civilians and soft targets.
