Karachi Traffic Chief Pir Muhammad Shah Ousted Following Gul Plaza Tragedy
DIG Traffic Karachi Pir Muhammad Shah has been removed from his post and replaced by Mazhar Nawaz Sheikh, according to an official notification.
The update follows harsh criticism on the inadequate traffic control that caused a delay in the fire department team’s arrival at the scene of a fatal fire at Gul Plaza.
Serious flaws in the city’s emergency response coordination and traffic control were revealed by the fire, which tragically claimed over 70 lives.
The newly appointed DIG Traffic has been tasked with upgrading the traffic system and ensuring rigorous implementation of traffic laws.
According to police authorities, more actions to enhance Karachi’s traffic flow are anticipated in the upcoming days.
