GILGIT: A car in the Shigar district of Gilgit-Baltistan went off a snow-covered road, killing three government workers on Saturday.

Gilgit-Baltistan’s roads are dangerous due to recent snowfall, and many locations are still inaccessible.

According to Shigar police, the deceased were both Shigar citizens and tax department personnel. On Saturday at about 5:00 p.m., they were driving from Skardu to Shigar when their car slipped on snow close to the Pardi section of Shigar Road.

According to police, all three of the occupants were instantly killed when the car fell into a steep ravine. The deceased, who were between the ages of thirty and forty, were identified as Muhammad Aslam, Sharafat, and Muhammad Kazim.

Shigar SP Naik Alam and a rescue squad arrived at the location under the direction of DIG Baltistan Tufail Ahmed Mir. After removing the bodies from the ditch, police gave them to the families so they could be buried.

In addition to offering the grieving families his sincere sympathies, the DIG prayed for the deceased’s forgiveness and patience.

Additionally, he urged people to avoid needless travel and to drive carefully in slippery and snowy weather.

Shigar resident and local reporter Rajab Ali Qamar reportedly claimed that access roads to the district’s upper regions were obstructed by a lot of snow. He said that travel was quite dangerous due to snow and freezing ice and that routes leading to Arandu, Askole, and other locations were still closed.
