Kashmir Issue: Field Marshal Asim Munir Turned Promise Into Action

Kashmir Solidarity Day is observed annually on February 5th globally, including in Pakistan, to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people against Indian occupation.

Last year, on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited Muzaffarabad. During his visit, he clearly reiterated Pakistan’s longstanding position on the Kashmir issue. In his address, Field Marshal Munir delivered a firm message to India, stating that Pakistan would not be intimidated by India’s numerical superiority under any circumstances. He further asserted that Pakistan would not hesitate to engage in further conflict over the Kashmir issue, a statement that drew significant international attention at the time.

In response to Indian aggression in May 2025, Pakistani forces, led by Field Marshal Munir, carried out a vigorous and effective operation. This military success was recognized internationally and, according to defense experts, highlighted Pakistan’s military capabilities and strategic defense posture to the world.

Citizens of Azad Kashmir noted that the Field Marshal’s visit to Muzaffarabad last year significantly boosted the morale of Kashmiris on both sides of the border. They expressed pride in his courageous leadership, stating that his commitment to the Kashmir cause was demonstrated through practical action rather than just words. Residents further remarked that the success of the armed forces has brought honor to the country and provided renewed strength to the oppressed people of Kashmir. They believe his unambiguous stance has become a vital source of support for the Kashmiri struggle.
