Blast at Islamabad’s Masjid Khadijah-ul-Kubra in Tarlai Kalan Kills Dozens, Several Injured

ISLAMABAD: A suicide blast occurred at Masjid Khadijah-ul-Kubra in the Tarlai Kalan area of Islamabad during Friday prayers. According to initial reports, 14 people were killed and several others injured. The explosion caused panic and fear among the local population. Rescue teams arrived immediately at the scene.

Officials said that the injured are being transferred to PIMS, Polyclinic, and CDA hospitals. Some citizens are also taking the injured to hospitals in their own vehicles.

Due to the emergency, hospitals have declared full emergency status to provide immediate medical care. The Executive Director of PIMS confirmed that emergency services are fully activated, and departments including Orthopedic, Burn Center, and Neurology have also been put on alert.

Security agencies have cordoned off the area and begun investigations. Authorities are collecting initial information about the cause of the blast and the extent of casualties.

Police sources said the suicide bomber was linked to Fitna al-Khawarij. The attacker was stopped at the mosque gate but detonated explosives, killing at least 12 worshippers and injuring several others.

Following the attack, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi instructed State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry to visit PIMS Hospital, where he checked on the injured patients and reviewed the arrangements. He also directed hospital authorities to provide special medical care, stating that the government is committed to giving all possible medical assistance to the victims.

Security agencies have cordoned off the area and started investigations, gathering initial information about the blast and casualties.
