Federal Minister Says Public Rejects PTI’s Protest Politics
Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar stated that, for the first time, he has seen “the wheel become jammed.”
He remarked that the public has rejected the politics of hatred, chaos, and division, noting that people are fed up with protest-driven politics.
Tarar added that even though it is Sunday and typically a busy day, the public has overwhelmingly rejected PTI’s call.
Earlier this month, Atta Tarar stated that the targeting of Muslims during Friday prayers is deeply regrettable, emphasizing that terrorists have no religion and aim only to spread unrest.
During a press conference in Lahore, the Minister asserted that the government’s primary goal is the total eradication of terrorism. He reported significant progress in the Tarlai attack investigation, vowing that the perpetrators will be brought to justice and pursued beyond their imagination.
Minister Tarar also announced the formation of a peace committee comprising representatives from all religious schools of thought. He noted that as terrorists have weakened, they have shifted their operations to suburban areas. Investigations into the Tarlai attacker have revealed that the individual had previously traveled to Afghanistan.
The Minister confirmed he has consulted with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi to further strengthen the security of Imambargahs. He noted that the cousin of IG Islamabad Nasir Rizvi was among those martyred in the incident, and assured that the police are doing their utmost to take further protective measures.
