Two Police Cops Injured in Separate Attacks in Bannu
BANNU: According to police officials who spoke to Local media on Sunday, two officers were hurt in two different attacks that targeted the police in the Bannu area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday night.
The sources claimed that terrorists were responsible for the first incident, in which armed attackers opened fire on the Khonia Khel police check station in Bannu’s Wazir subdivision, causing the police to counterattack.
According to them, Cop Noor Muhammad was hurt during the gunfight.
It was not immediately possible to confirm the specifics of the terrorists’ losses.
According to the sources, security has been further strengthened, and a search operation has been initiated in the region.
In the second incident, which happened on DI Khan Road in Bannu, Mirakhel police were attacked as they were taking a slain person’s body to the hospital, according to sources.
They claimed that one police officer, Azmat, was hurt when armed attackers opened fire on them.
As per the police’s initial assessment, three motorcycles and six attackers participated in the attack.
Following the attack, the attackers left the scene of the crime.
The events of Saturday night occur just ten days after a terrorist attempt on a police car in the Domel neighborhood of Bannu was thwarted.
A police car carrying inmates to Hangu was attacked in Bannu earlier on January 8, injuring three officers.
