Ramadan 2026: Sadaqat-ul-Fitr and Fidya amounts announced

Pakistan has announced the “Nisab” for Sadaqat-ul-Fitr (Fitrana) and Fidya-i-Saum for Ramadan 2026.

According to Allama Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII):

  • Sadaqat al-Fitr and Fidya are set at:

    • 1,100 rupees based on barley

    • 1,600 rupees based on dates

    • 3,800 rupees based on raisins

    • 5,400 rupees based on dried grapes (munqqa)

    • 200 rupees based on wheat flour

For those who miss fasting for 30 days, the Fidya has been fixed as:

  • 9,000 rupees based on wheat

  • 33,000 rupees based on barley

  • 48,000 rupees based on dates

  • 114,000 rupees based on raisins

  • 162,000 rupees based on munqqa

  • 6,000 rupees based on wheat flour

Dr. Naeemi emphasized that Sadaqat al-Fitr is obligatory for every financially capable Muslim, including men, women, children, and adults.

He also explained that if a fast is deliberately broken, the expiation (kaffarah) requires either:

  • Fasting continuously for 60 days, or

  • Feeding two meals to 60 needy people

These announcements aim to help Muslims fulfill their religious obligations properly during Ramadan 2026.
