Rana Sanaullah refutes negligence claims about PTI founder's health
Islamabad: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has stated that there is no truth to the claims of “four months of negligence” regarding Imran Khan’s health, urging that politics should not be played over medical issues.
Speaking during a Senate session, Rana Sanaullah said that such negligence is unacceptable. However, he added that if the facts suggest otherwise, it is equally “criminal” to exploit the situation for political gain.
He further claimed, “Imran Khan first complained in the first week of January, and an examination was conducted on January 16. On January 19, a medical team re-examined the PTI founder and conducted tests. The prison doctor prescribed him drops, which he used for three to four days.”
The advisor noted that Imran Khan received an injection on January 24, asserting that these details are documented. “If the Leader of the Opposition requests them, I will hand over the documents. It is incorrect to say that complaints were being made for four months. Whenever Imran Khan complained, he was examined; therefore, there is no question of four months of negligence.”
Rana Sanaullah added that Imran Khan has been examined by outside doctors 25 times. He pointed out that during a medical board meeting on December 9, the PTI founder did not mention any issues regarding his eyes.
In response, the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate, Raja Nasir Abbas, stated, “I have no vision in my right eye. If an issue is checked immediately, the damage can be controlled. It is clear that there was negligence in the case of the PTI founder.”
