Ramadan 2026: KE Ensures No Power Outages During Sehr and Iftar
K-Electric, the sole power supplier for Karachi, has announced that there will be no load-shedding during Sahar and Iftar hours throughout the city during the holy month of Ramadan.
The company has issued a new schedule specifically for Ramadan. In its statement, K-Electric confirmed, “no power outages will be conducted across the city during the peak hours of Sahar and Iftar to ensure convenience for citizens.”
Meanwhile, Adeeb Ahmed has been appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of K-Electric, ARY News reported. The decision was made during a board meeting of K-Electric to fill the leadership role.
Ahmed is a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the energy and infrastructure sectors. According to K-Electric’s website, “Mr. Adeeb Ahmad’s career spans 34 years including C-suite roles. He has been involved in managing private equity funds, M&A and transformation focused on energy and other infrastructure sectors across MENA, Turkey, CIS, Southeast Asia, and Pakistan.”
He has also worked with investment banking institutions in the GCC and Pakistan, leading several M&A, privatization, and capital-raising assignments. Previously, he served as CEO of Hascol Petroleum Limited and as Senior Advisor to the CEO and Deputy CEO-Designate at Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) in Saudi Arabia. Ahmed holds an M.Sc. from the London School of Economics, UK, and an MBA from IBA, Karachi.
With this announcement and leadership appointment, K-Electric aims to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply and improve service reliability during the critical hours of Ramadan for Karachi’s residents.
