Fire Breaks Out Near Karachi’s North Nazimabad

A fire broke out in a residential building near Hyderi, North Nazimabad, following an explosion in a flat. Initial police investigations suggest the blast was caused by a gas leakage, though further inquiries are underway. Two fire brigade vehicles and a snorkel were immediately dispatched to the scene to combat the blaze and assist with the evacuation.

Rescue 1122 officials confirmed that a child tragically died in the incident, with the body recovered from the rubble. Additionally, four people, including a woman and a girl, sustained injuries. All residents have since been safely evacuated from the building; however, three individuals remain in critical condition and have been shifted to the hospital for urgent medical care.

The Inspector General (IG) of Sindh has ordered the SSP Central to personally monitor the rescue operations, emphasizing that the safe evacuation of all residents must be a priority. While the fire has been brought under control and all occupants have been accounted for, firefighting teams remain on-site as cooling operations continue.
