Five Militants Killed in Intelligence-Based Operation in Pishin District

PISHIN – February 22, 2026: Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Pishin District of Balochistan after receiving reports about the presence of militants in the area.

According to official sources, the operation targeted members of a banned militant network described by authorities as Fitna al Khwarij. Security personnel surrounded the suspected hideout and engaged the group during the operation.

Officials said that during the exchange of fire, one suspected suicide bomber detonated explosives. Four other militants were killed in the operation.

Security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition, and explosive material from the site. Authorities stated that the militants were allegedly involved in previous terrorist activities in the region.

Sanitization Operation Underway

A follow-up sanitization operation is currently ongoing in nearby areas. Security officials say the purpose is to ensure that no other armed suspects remain in the vicinity.

Law enforcement agencies have increased patrols and security measures across parts of Balochistan in recent months. The region has witnessed multiple counter-terror operations aimed at dismantling militant networks.

Counter-Terror Campaign Continues

Officials reiterated that the nationwide counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue. The strategy was approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan framework.

Security authorities stated that operations against militancy and armed groups will proceed to ensure stability and public safety across the country.
