Russia Celebrates Defender of the Fatherland Day in Islamabad with Pakistani Military Officials

The Embassy of Russia, along with the Defense Attaché’s Office, hosted an official reception to celebrate Defender of the Fatherland Day, a key holiday honoring Russian military achievements.

The event was attended by Ambassador Albert P. Khorev, Russian Defence Attaché Colonel Vadim Fenchenko, embassy staff, Pakistani military officers, members of the foreign diplomatic corps, and senior officials from Pakistan. The Chief Guest was Air Marshal Shakeel Ghazanfar, Deputy Chief of the Air Staff of Pakistan.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Khorev highlighted the history of the holiday and the significant victories of the Russian army and navy. He paid tribute to notable military commanders, including Alexander Nevsky, Alexander Suvorov, Mikhail Kutuzov, Georgy Zhukov, Konstantin Rokossovsky, and Alexander Vasilevsky.

Ambassador Khorev emphasized that, despite unprecedented challenges from the collective West, the Russian armed forces continue to play a crucial role in ensuring national security, protecting civilians, and defending Russia’s sovereignty and independent development path.

Colonel Vadim Fenchenko stressed the structured nature of Russia-Pakistan defense cooperation, noting it as a vital instrument for fostering trust, stability, and predictability in international relations.

Concluding the event, the Russian Embassy extended its best wishes to all defenders of the Fatherland on their professional holiday, underscoring the importance of honoring military service and international partnerships.
