PM announces Rs 13,000 Aid per family in Ramadan relief package 2026

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has launched the Rs 38 billion Prime Minister’s Ramadan Relief Package 2026, providing Rs 13,000 per beneficiary through digital wallets. This is the largest and most comprehensive Ramadan relief initiative in Pakistan’s history.

By the 8th of Ramadan, 64% of beneficiaries had received their payments. The program covers all regions of Pakistan, including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, making it a truly nationwide effort.

Key Features of the Relief Package

  • Each beneficiary now receives Rs 13,000, up from Rs 5,000 last year.

  • Payments are made through digital wallets, ensuring transparency and avoiding long queues.

  • Over 1.1 million digital transactions have been completed so far.

  • The government sent 1.227 million automated calls to inform people about the package.

  • Twelve banks and fintech companies are working together to distribute the funds.

  • Real-time dashboards track payments to maintain transparency.

Prime Minister’s Statement

At a review meeting held at the Prime Minister’s House, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the increase in financial support aims to help families during Ramadan amid rising costs. He praised the institutions managing the rollout and emphasized the importance of speed, transparency, and dignity for beneficiaries.

The scheme continues to progress rapidly, and authorities are working to ensure all eligible families receive their funds on time. Federal ministers, senior officials, and State Bank representatives attended the meeting to update the Prime Minister on the implementation.

This initiative marks a significant step in providing timely and transparent financial support to millions of families across Pakistan during Ramadan.
