PM Shehbaz visits GHQ, announces zero tolerance policy
RAWALPINDI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi for an important emergency meeting. During the visit, he was given a detailed briefing on the country’s internal and external security situation, especially the recent tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Military leaders informed the prime minister about the border situation, terrorism threats, and ongoing counter-terrorism operations.
Speaking on the occasion, the prime minister clearly stated that a zero-tolerance policy will be adopted against “Fitna al-Khawarij” and the alleged nexus of the Afghan Taliban regime. He said that any kind of aggression or hostile action against Pakistan will not be tolerated, and the country will make no compromise on its sovereignty.
Appreciating the professional capabilities of the Pakistan Army, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that under the leadership of the Field Marshal, the armed forces are fully prepared to defend the country at all times. He praised the recent strong response by the armed forces and said a clear message has been sent to the enemy that Pakistan has the full ability to protect its borders.
The prime minister also stressed that any activities by the Afghan Taliban regime and Fitna al-Khawarij against Pakistan are unacceptable. He said that for peace in the region, cross-border attacks must stop immediately.
He added that the entire nation stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces and is ready to make any sacrifice for the defense of the homeland. The prime minister reaffirmed that Pakistan has the full capability to respond strongly to any aggression and will not compromise on national security.
