Pakistan Cancels 58 Middle East Flights for Second Day as Regional Tensions Escalate

01 March, 2026 10:48

Flights from Pakistan to several Middle Eastern destinations were suspended for a second straight day on March 1, leaving thousands of travelers stranded as regional tensions continue to rise.

According to aviation authorities, a total of 58 outbound flights to the Middle East were canceled nationwide. Lahore recorded 13 cancellations, while Islamabad saw the highest number with 23 flights called off. Karachi reported 18 cancellations, and Faisalabad had four flights suspended.

The flight disruptions follow recent attacks on Iran, which led several countries — including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait — to shut down their airspace as a precautionary measure.

Airlines have begun coordinating with affected passengers to arrange alternative travel options and reschedule flights. However, officials warn that operational challenges may persist until the regional security situation improves.

Travelers are strongly encouraged to remain in close contact with their respective airlines for the latest updates and revised flight schedules.
