Pakistan Seeks Diplomatic Solution to Iran Conflict

Addressing the UN Security Council, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, issued an urgent call for an immediate ceasefire in Iran to prevent further regional instability. The Ambassador strongly condemned the recent strikes on Iran, as well as the retaliatory attacks targeting Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ambassador Ahmad expressed profound grief over the death of a Pakistani national in the UAE, characterizing the incident as a “dastardly attack.” Reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with its brotherly Gulf nations, he emphasized that all parties must strictly adhere to the UN Charter and respect international law. He concluded by urging all sides to exercise maximum restraint and return to the path of diplomacy to find a peaceful resolution to the crisis.
