Atta Tarar Confirms Action Against Ongoing Cyberattacks
Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar has confirmed that technical teams are actively addressing ongoing cyberattacks. Investigations are currently underway to trace the origin of several messages received via online applications. Highlighting the state’s commitment to security, Tarar asserted that the government will get to the bottom of the matter, noting that “enemies of the country” appear increasingly unsettled by Pakistan’s resilience.
On the diplomatic front, the Minister stated that Pakistan’s Foreign Office has formally condemned the attacks on Iran. Following Iranian strikes on Gulf nations, Pakistan initiated high-level contacts with regional partners to coordinate a response. Expressing deep regret over the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei, Tarar emphasized that Pakistan shares the grief of the Iranian nation and continues to seek an amicable, diplomatic resolution to the current crisis.
Regarding international engagements, the Minister announced that the Prime Minister has postponed his high-priority visit to Russia following a detailed consultation. While the visit holds great strategic importance, the decision was deemed necessary given the current regional circumstances. A new date for the trip will be finalized in coordination with Russian authorities once the situation stabilizes.
Finally, the government is prioritizing the safety of its citizens abroad, with many students already repatriated from Iran and further transport arrangements in progress. Minister Tarar noted that the administration is also working to neutralize threats from the Taliban regime. He concluded by stating that the government will assess long-term policy once Pakistan has successfully navigated this complex and evolving situation.
