Pakistan Announces Results of “Operation Ghazb-lil-Haq” After Ceasefire, Reports Heavy Militant Losses
The Pakistan Armed Forces has released an official update on Operation Ghazb-lil-Haq, detailing significant losses inflicted on militant groups during operations conducted up to the ceasefire announcement at 1900 hours on March 18.
According to the statement, a total of 707 militants were killed and over 938 injured, while 255 militant posts were destroyed and 44 posts captured during the operation. Additionally, 237 tanks, armoured vehicles, and artillery guns were reportedly destroyed. The military also confirmed that 81 terrorist locations and support infrastructures across Afghanistan were effectively targeted through air operations.
The update further stated that on the night of March 16, Pakistan carried out precision strikes on Afghan military installations in Kabul and Nangarhar. These strikes reportedly targeted drone storage facilities, technical support infrastructure, and ammunition depots allegedly used by the Afghan Taliban and affiliated groups to conduct attacks against Pakistani civilians.
In parallel operations, Pakistani forces engaged and destroyed Afghan Taliban positions in key border regions, including Bajur, Kurram, Torkham in Khyber, as well as North Waziristan and South Waziristan.
Officials emphasized that the strikes were conducted with precision targeting of militant infrastructure. They rejected allegations made by Afghan authorities and segments of the media, stating:
“No civilian population or infrastructure was targeted, contrary to the false claims being propagated by Afghan regime officials and sections of the media.”
The military also released video footage showing what it described as precision engagements against installations, posts, and camps allegedly supporting cross-border terrorism.
The operation marks a significant escalation in regional tensions, though the announcement of a ceasefire suggests a temporary pause in hostilities.
