ISLAMABAD – The federal government has announced an increase in the quarterly payment under the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP).

According to the new update, the amount has been raised from Rs 13,500 to Rs 14,500 for this quarter. This increase will benefit millions of registered women across Pakistan.

Officials said that rising inflation has increased household expenses. Due to this, the government decided to raise the payment to support deserving families.

It is important to note that last year, the quarterly amount was also increased from Rs 10,500 to Rs 13,500. Now, with this latest increase, more financial relief has been provided.

The BISP program was launched in 2008 to help poor families during times of economic difficulty, food shortages, and rising prices. Its long-term goal is to reduce poverty and empower women.

Officials have confirmed that the new quarterly payment of Rs 14,500 will be given to eligible women in the current payment phase.
