Flour Prices Decline in Karachi as New Wheat Crop Boosts Supply
Flour mill owners have announced a notable reduction in flour and fine flour prices in Karachi following the arrival of the new wheat crop in local markets.
According to reports, wheat prices have dropped by Rs. 10 per kilogram, resulting in a decrease of up to Rs. 12 per kilogram in both flour and fine flour rates.
Data shared by the Flour Mills Association shows that wheat prices have fallen from Rs. 95 to Rs. 85 per kilogram. Consequently, the price of flour No. 2.5 in Karachi has declined from Rs. 107 to Rs. 95 per kilogram.
Similarly, fine flour prices have also witnessed a significant drop, decreasing from Rs. 126 to Rs. 114 per kilogram.
Market experts attribute this downward trend to the improved supply of wheat, noting that the increased availability of the new crop is likely to stabilise prices further and provide relief to consumers struggling with inflation.
