Public Holiday in Lahore Announced for March 28

LAHORE: The annual Urs and Mela Chiraghan of the saint Hazrat Madho Lal Hussain will begin tomorrow, March 28.

The Department of Auqaf and Religious Affairs has recommended a local public holiday for the occasion, and the Punjab government will observe the holiday on March 28.

Mela Chiraghan is important both religiously and culturally. Devotees from across the region visit Hazrat Madho Lal Hussain’s shrine to pay their respects.

The festival includes colorful lights, ceremonial events, and also supports local businesses, boosting trade and commerce in the area.
