KP CM Meets Khyber Leaders Over Development and Security Issues

Delegations comprising national leaders and tribal elders from the Khyber District met with the chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to hold detailed discussions on public issues, law and order, and development strategies. During the meetings, the national leaders and tribal elders presented various suggestions aimed at ensuring the sustainable development and prosperity of the region.

The chief minister noted that Rs 1,375 billion is currently due for the merged districts in terms of the NFC award. Supporting this, Sohail Afridi highlighted that at the time of the merger, the federal government had promised Rs 100 billion annually for these districts. He stated that the federation is continuously neglecting the region and emphasized that such treatment will no longer be tolerated.

To address these challenges, Sohail Afridi announced that a comprehensive development package of Rs 1,000 billion is being introduced for the merged districts. He assured the delegations that there will be no negligence on the part of the provincial government in executing these plans. Finally, he maintained that if the commitments made by the federal government are not fulfilled, it remains their right to protest.
