PIA Resumes Direct Flights to London After Six Years

Direct flight operations between Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and London have officially resumed. Defense Secretary Lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad Ali and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott inaugurated the service, marking a significant milestone for both nations.

British High Commissioner Jane Marriott welcomed the resumption, describing it as a reflection of the growing relations between the United Kingdom and Pakistan. Noting that several hundred thousand Pakistanis reside in the UK, she expressed her hope that direct PIA flights from Karachi would also commence soon.

Defense Secretary Muhammad Ali characterized the day as an important one for Pakistan’s aviation industry. He remarked that while PIA and London have shared a partnership for decades, the relationship had unfortunately been suspended for the last six years. He expressed his gratitude that this vital connection is being restored today.
