Stormy Rains Kill 11 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Heavy rains and storms in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have caused widespread destruction, resulting in a total of 11 deaths in roof collapses and other accidents.

Thunderstorms accompanied by heavy rains have caused loss of life and property in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Swat, Bannu, Kohat, Abbottabad, and Nowshera.

Eleven people have died so far in various accidents across the province. The most tragic incident took place in the Hajia Gali area of ​​Abbottabad, where five people, including four girls, lost their lives and four others were seriously injured when the roof of a house collapsed.

Similarly, ten-year-old Laiba and twelve-year-old Abdul Karim died when a roof collapsed in the Blitang area of ​​Kohat, while their mother and a child were taken to the hospital in an injured condition.

Rains also wreaked havoc in Bannu, where two children died and thirty-five people were injured when a verandah collapsed in Kotka Ghulam Qadir, while a woman and two children died when roofs collapsed in other places.

Houses were also damaged, and low-lying areas were flooded in Nowshera and Lower Dir. In Kohat, stormy winds uprooted electricity poles, paralyzing life.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah have expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life in these accidents and have assured all possible assistance to the affected families.
