Light to moderate rainfall expected in Karachi from tomorrow
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in Karachi and other parts of Sindh on Monday and Tuesday under the influence of an incoming weather system.
The rainy system could also trigger windstorms in the city. Currently, Karachi is experiencing partly cloudy conditions as the sea breeze has been temporarily suspended.
A westerly wave is expected to enter Baluchistan from Iran tonight, influencing weather patterns in Sindh and bringing light to moderate rain on April 6 and 7.
According to PMD, rainfall is also expected in Jamshoro, Dadu, Kambar Shahdadkot, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Matiari, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Thatta, Badin, and Sujawal districts.
Earlier, the Met Office predicted additional rain and windstorms with thunderstorms as another western disturbance approaches western Baluchistan on April 5 evening, likely persisting in upper areas until April 9.
Under this weather system, rain and thunderstorms, with occasional heavyfalls and hail, are expected in Baluchistan districts including Chagai, Dalbandin, Kharan, Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Nushki, Harnai, Zhob, Kalat, Khuzdar, Barkhan, Mastung, Sibbi, Kohlu, Naseerabad, and Loralai from April 5 night to April 7. Panjgur, Turbat, Kech, Awaran, Makran Coast (Gwadar, Pasni, Ormara), and Lasbella will experience rain on April 6.
Residents are advised to stay alert for potential disruptions due to thunderstorms and windstorms during this period.
