Karachi Matric Exams Postponed to April 10, Announces BSEK

06 April, 2026 09:06

The Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) has announced the postponement of matric examinations in Karachi, which were initially scheduled to begin on April 7.

According to Board Chairman Ghulam Hussain, the exams will now commence on April 10. He stated that the decision was taken to facilitate students and ensure smoother arrangements across the city.

Officials explained that the delay is linked to the board’s transition from a manual system to a digital platform. The Controller of Examinations noted that the increased data load caused temporary technical issues, affecting the system’s performance and necessitating an emergency rescheduling.

Despite the change in dates, the board confirmed that examination centers will remain unchanged, and students will appear at their previously assigned venues.

Authorities also assured that a revised examination schedule will be released shortly to guide students and institutions.

Earlier, the board had instructed schools to collect admit cards on April 6 by presenting an official authority letter. The distribution process was arranged at the board’s conference hall to ensure timely issuance of documents.

The decision aims to minimize disruption while maintaining the integrity of the examination process for thousands of students in Karachi.
