NADRA introduces new three-stage B-Form for children
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new system for issuing the Child Registration Certificate (B-Form). Now, each child will receive the B-Form in three stages, with each version having specific features and validity periods.
First Stage
The first B-Form is issued at birth without a photograph. It is valid until the child turns three years old.
Second Stage
After the child turns three, a second B-Form is issued. This version includes a photograph and is valid until the child reaches 10 years of age.
Third Stage
Once the child is older than 10, a third B-Form will be issued. This version includes the child’s photograph, iris scan, and fingerprints, and remains valid until the child turns 18.
NADRA has advised parents to register their child’s birth with the Union Council within one month and get the first B-Form promptly. Parents should also renew the B-Form on time after each validity period. This can be done by visiting the nearest NADRA office or applying online via the Pak-ID mobile app. NADRA emphasized that getting the updated B-Form early will help avoid problems, especially during school admissions.
Earlier, NADRA introduced the Iris Recognition System for identity verification. This system works alongside other biometric systems, like fingerprint and facial-image matching. The iris system is now available at selected centers in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi, and will gradually expand to all 700 NADRA registration centers across Pakistan.
