North Korea Fires Ballistic Missiles Japan Sea

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said that North Korea fired multiple short-range ballistic missiles toward the Sea of Japan early on Wednesday.

The missiles are thought to have traveled about 240 kilometers after being fired from the Wonsan region in the eastern North Korean province of Kangwon.

Only on Tuesday did North Korea shoot what appeared to be a ballistic missile from the Pyongyang region, which prompted the most recent missile firing.

Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara stated that no missiles have been proven to have penetrated Japan’s exclusive economic zone during a press briefing in Tokyo on Wednesday. He noted that there have been no instances of individuals or property being damaged.

“North Korea’s recent string of actions threaten the peace and security of our country, the region and the international community,”the top spokesperson for the Japanese government added that Japan will collaborate closely with the governments of South Korea and the United States to collect data and carry out warning and surveillance operations.
