Security Operations Intensified in Islamabad and Rawalpindi Divisions Amid US-Iran Peace Talks

Islamabad and Rawalpindi divisions have seen the launch of extensive search-and-combing operations across five districts, as authorities step up security in the context of ongoing US-Iran peace negotiations.

Joint operations are underway in key areas of the federal capital, including Sabzi Mandi, Faizabad, Tarnol, Shahzad Town, Humak, and Karachi Company, while in Rawalpindi district, operations are active around Pirwadhai, Nur Khan Airbase, Haji Camp, Taxila, and other parts of Murree, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Attock.

Police, Rangers, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and intelligence agencies are operating within a coordinated framework. Surveillance has been intensified at major transit points, residential areas, and sensitive locations. Intelligence-based screening, verification of residents’ information, and monitoring of entry and exit routes have been accelerated.

Officials said security measures will continue in phases to ensure public safety and urged citizens to cooperate with authorities.

District-wise Deployment and Focus

• Islamabad Capital Territory: Search and screening operations are ongoing at bus terminals, markets, and residential areas, with checks at all entry and exit points intensified.
• Tarnol, Shahzad Town, Humak: Special teams have been deployed to monitor resident details and track movement.
• Faizabad and Karachi Company: Transit activities are continuously monitored; checks continue at bus stands and surrounding areas.
• Rawalpindi: Security tightened around Pirwadhai, Nur Khan Airbase, and Haji Camp, with a strong presence near sensitive installations and key points.
• Taxila, Murree, Jhelum, Chakwal, and Attock: Phased combing operations are ongoing, coordinated by police, elite forces, CTD, and intelligence agencies.

Local-Level Surveillance and Enforcement

• Search and screening operations continue near Sabzi Mandi, Faizabad, and Karachi Company, including bus stands and adjacent neighborhoods.
• In Tarnol and Shahzad Town, authorities are conducting door-to-door verification, monitoring resident details and movement.
• Intelligence-based checking and close monitoring of suspicious activities are ongoing in Humak and surrounding areas.
• Pirwadhai and Haji Camp are under strict supervision, with continuous monitoring of movements at entry points.
• Nur Khan Airbase and nearby areas remain on high alert, with law enforcement agencies positioned near sensitive installations.
