Sindh govt announces new timings for markets, restaurants and wedding halls

The Sindh government has announced new operating hours for markets, shops, restaurants, and wedding halls under its austerity policy. A formal notification has been issued, and the new rules will apply immediately.

According to the government, shops, markets, and shopping malls in all districts except divisional headquarters will close at 8 PM. In divisional headquarters, they will be allowed to remain open until 9 PM.

The new timings will remain in effect seven days a week, including Saturday and Sunday.

However, several services have been exempted from these restrictions. Bakeries, milk and dairy shops, medical stores, laboratories, clinics, hospitals, and petrol pumps will continue to operate as usual.

Restaurants, hotels, and food outlets will only be allowed to serve dinner from 7 PM to 11:30 PM. Home delivery and takeaway services will remain open without any restrictions.

Wedding halls and banquet halls will be allowed to host events from 8 PM to 12 midnight.

The government has directed commissioners and deputy commissioners to ensure strict enforcement of these orders with the help of the Sindh Police.

Officials said the step is part of efforts to promote energy saving and better management of resources across the province.
