Survey Shows Broad Public Satisfaction with Maryam Nawaz’s Two-Year Performance in Punjab

Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Launches Punjab Police Pakistan App for Citizens
A recent public opinion survey conducted by the Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) shows strong approval of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz after two years in office.
The findings suggest that a majority of citizens believe the province is moving in a positive direction under her leadership.
According to the survey report, around 69% of respondents expressed satisfaction with her overall performance. Among them, 32% rated her governance as “excellent,” while 31% described it as “good.” The report highlights that most participants see noticeable improvement in governance and public services across Punjab.
The survey also indicates a shift toward performance-based politics among younger voters. Around 55% of respondents said they would base their future voting decisions on government performance rather than party loyalty. This trend was especially strong among people aged 18 to 40, where 69% showed positive views of the provincial government.
Political support for the Pakistan Muslim League (N) was also measured in the survey. It found that the party currently holds about 42% public support in Punjab. Additionally, 56% of respondents believe that ongoing development projects have contributed to increased popularity for the provincial leadership.
Sector-wise results showed mixed but generally positive feedback. The “Suthra Punjab Program” received the highest approval at 33%, followed by women’s welfare and protection initiatives at 30%, public transport improvements at 29%, and education reforms at 27%. Respondents also reported visible improvements in these areas.
In terms of infrastructure and public services, 25% of participants acknowledged progress in development projects, while 26% noted improvements in law and order. A larger portion, 56%, expressed satisfaction with sanitation and municipal services, calling them a key area of improvement in urban Punjab.
The survey included responses from 7,000 citizens across the province. It was designed to include equal participation from men and women, with 57% of respondents from rural areas and 43% from urban regions, ensuring a balanced representation of public opinion.
Overall, the report concludes that a majority of citizens believe Punjab is on the right track and that governance performance is playing a major role in shaping public trust.
