Sindh expands free pink electric scooter scheme for women - check details
KARACHI: If you’ve been dreaming of scoring a free pink electric scooter, here’s some awesome news! The popular scheme is expanding to Sukkur and Hyderabad real soon.
Pakistan Peoples Party chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari just gave the green light to roll this out across all of Sindh for women everywhere.
This came up during some big meetings at Bilawal House here in Karachi, where they hashed out public concerns and welfare programs, leading to some solid decisions.
Sharjeel Inam Memon, the provincial minister, updated Bilawal on how the scooter handouts are going in Karachi. Bilawal was thrilled and told them to take it step by step to every corner of the province.
First up: Sukkur and Hyderabad. Expect distribution events popping up there any day now.
These scooters are totally free for women who’ve lived in Sindh long-term, but you’ve got to check these boxes:
- Be a permanent Sindh resident.
- Either studying or working.
- Have a valid license for a bike or car.
- No selling or passing it on for the first 7 years.
Winners get picked via a fair lottery draw, then they need to ace a quick road safety test. Plus, the Sindh government is setting up free training sessions all over to make sure everyone rides confidently and safely.
At its heart, this program’s all about giving women easier ways to get around, so they can chase education, jobs, and more independence. What a game-changer!
