More Provinces Are Not the Solution to System Failure: Bilawal Bhutto

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said those claiming that the system had failed should explain why new provinces were needed.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Phase III of the Thar Coal Block-II project in Islamkot, Tharparkar, Bilawal said Thar had seen major development in health and education.

He said the progress in Thar was an example of the success of the Constitution and the 18th Amendment. He added that Islamabad should also follow the development model of Thar.

Bilawal said Thar was producing electricity at one of the lowest costs. He also said the development model of Thar should be implemented across the country.

The PPP chairman accused a political party of promoting politics of hatred and division in Karachi. He said such politics would not succeed in Sindh.

He said the children of Thar were continuing to make progress and regularly achieving top positions in examinations.

Bilawal said he wanted to bring development to Karachi through public-private partnerships and apply the same model across the country.

He said if Islamabad had failed, it should hand over its responsibilities to Thar. He added that Thar’s youth could demonstrate what they were capable of achieving.

Bilawal also questioned the demand for new provinces, saying that if the system had failed, he did not understand the logic of creating new provinces.
