NAB Seeks Interpol Warrants for Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz

Chairman NAB Lieutenant General (retd) Nazir Ahmed Butt, while briefing the media, said that at the request of NAB, Interpol issued red warrants for Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz.

Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz were declared absconders in money laundering cases in the Islamabad Sessions Court. On this occasion, DG Operations NAB Amjad Majeed Aulakh said that the investigation against Malik Riaz worth more than Rs 900 billion has been completed.

Last year, NAB recovered Rs89 billion; currently, 37 high-profile cases of money laundering are being processed. Many cases of parliamentarians have been transferred to the FIA and other departments, NAB chairman.

Four money laundering cases have been disposed of by the courts. Currently, there are 289 references, 205 investigations, and 745 inquiries. Between January and March of this year, a total of 8,563 complaints were received, of which 8,214 have been disposed of. Action is still underway on 475 complaints.

Investigations are underway regarding various housing projects including Bahria Town. Land has been acquired from Malir, Korangi, Clifton and Gul Ahmed Mills in Sindh. More than 900,000 acres of land have also been acquired in Punjab. A task force has been formed at the provincial level to look after the acquired land.

The NAB Chairman further said that several politicians have been investigated in the Bahria Town Karachi case, cases are also being filed against various parliamentarians, and many cases of parliamentarians have been transferred to the FIA ​​and other departments.
