Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets President of China

Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (Field Marshal) Asim Munir and PM Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif met with Chinese PM Li Qiang and President Xi  in Beijing today on a four day official visit to China.

The leaders discussed bilateral strategic cooperation, regional security, and the transition of the Pakistan-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) from Phase one to Phase two.

President Xi Jinping officially acknowledged Field Marshal Munir’s recent diplomatic visit to Iran, commending Pakistan’s efforts to promote peace and de-escalate tensions between the US and Iran.

Premier Li Qiang hosted the delegation at the Great Hall of the People, where Field Marshal Munir was prominently welcomed alongside the Pakistani Prime Minister.
