President Zardari and PM Shehbaz Urge National Unity and Compassion on Eidul Azha 2026

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended heartfelt Eidul Azha greetings to the people of Pakistan and Muslims across the world, issuing separate messages on the occasion that emphasized the deeper values of sacrifice, compassion, and national unity.

Both leaders reflected on the profound spiritual significance of Eidul Azha, describing it as a celebration rooted in devotion to Allah, perseverance, faithfulness, honesty, and the timeless spirit of sacrifice — values embodied by the exemplary obedience of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS).

President Zardari stressed that genuine sacrifice extends far beyond the performance of rituals and demands real compassion and active care for others in society. He noted that the true joy of Eid can only be fully realized when the most vulnerable members of society are remembered and supported, specifically mentioning the poor, widows, orphans, labourers, persons with disabilities, and other deserving individuals — including those who suffer in silence without seeking help from others.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the critical importance of sacrifice, national unity, and mutual support as foundational values for a nation’s development and long-term stability. He reaffirmed that the Pakistani nation stands in firm solidarity with the people of Palestine and the people living under oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir on this significant occasion. The prime minister offered prayers for peace, harmony, and prosperity across the world and called upon Allah Almighty to accept the sacrifices of the Muslim Ummah and bless it with the true spirit and essence of Eidul Azha.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also extended his Eidul Azha greetings to Muslims in Pakistan and around the world on the occasion.
