Islamabad imposes market and restaurant closing timings

The Islamabad district administration has reintroduced restrictions on business operating hours, directing shops, markets, and shopping malls to close by 8:00 PM daily.

According to the new notification issued by the district magistrate, restaurants, tandoors, grocery stores, bakeries, meat shops, fruit sellers, and vegetable outlets will be allowed to operate until 10:00 PM.

Marriage halls, marquees, and other venues hosting events have also been instructed to close by 10:00 PM. The rule applies to all types of gatherings, including those held on private premises.

The revised timings came into effect on Monday and will remain in place until further orders from the authorities.

Officials said the decision aims to regulate commercial activity in the capital, and businesses have been asked to strictly follow the new schedule to avoid penalties.
