Karachi declares public holiday on June 8

KARACHI: The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced a local holiday on June 8 on the occasion of the annual Urs of Hazrat Abdullah Shah Ghazi (RA).

According to officials, the Human Resource Management Department of KMC issued a notification confirming that June 8, corresponding to 22 Zul Hijjah 1447 AH, will be observed as a local public holiday in the city.

The decision was taken after approval of a resolution passed by the Karachi City Council. As a result, all KMC offices will remain closed on the holiday.

However, departments providing essential and emergency services will continue to operate as usual to ensure public convenience and uninterrupted services.

KMC officials said the holiday has been approved by the competent authority and all relevant departments have been informed to ensure proper implementation across the city.
