Security forces killed six India-backed terrorists in Panjgur
Security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Panjgur District, where they killed six militants linked with India-sponsored Fitna al-Hindustan.
The statement was shared by the Inter-Services Public Relations on Friday. It said the operation was launched after confirmed information about the presence of terrorists in the area.
“During the conduct of operation, own forces effectively engaged multiple terrorist locations,” the ISPR said. It added that after a heavy exchange of fire, six terrorists were killed.
Weapons and Explosives Recovered
According to the ISPR, weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices, and vehicles were also recovered from the killed militants. These individuals were involved in several terrorist activities in the region.
The military said, “Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian sponsored terrorist found in the area.”
Recent Operations in KP
This action comes after earlier operations in Dera Ismail Khan and Mohmand District, where four more militants linked to Fitna al-Khawarij were killed.
Security forces have intensified operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan following rising militant attacks.
Ongoing Counter-Terror Efforts
The ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision Azm e Istehkam will continue with full strength to eliminate foreign-backed terrorism.
Earlier, a deadly blast near a railway track in Quetta at Chaman Phatak killed and injured several people, including Frontier Corps personnel.
Background of Rising Militancy
Pakistan has seen a rise in terrorist attacks since 2021, especially in KP and Balochistan. After the return of the Afghan Taliban, security tensions increased in border regions.
Authorities also reported earlier military actions, including Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, during which many militants were killed and injured.
Despite several talks, officials say cross-border terrorism remains a major challenge due to the lack of action against militant groups operating from Afghan soil.
