GB Elections 2026: PPP leads as official results continue to come in

PPP leads early in Gilgit-Baltistan polls as vote count continues
GILGIT-BALTISTAN: Official results from several constituencies of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections show close contests across the region, with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) emerging as one of the leading political parties.
In GBLA-1 Gilgit-I, PPP candidate Amjad Advocate won the seat with 10,594 votes, while PML-N’s Shafiq-ud-Din came second with 6,316 votes.
In GBLA-4 Nagar-I, PPP’s Muhammad Ali Akhtar secured victory with 7,654 votes, defeating Islami Tehreek candidate Muhammad Ayub Waziri, who received 6,597 votes.
In GBLA-6 Hunza, independent candidate Nek Nam Karim won with 6,390 votes, while PPP candidate Colonel (R) Imtiaz-ul-Haq finished second with 5,417 votes.
In GBLA-7 Skardu-I, PPP’s Tauqeer Mehdi Shah won the seat with 4,320 votes, followed by IPP’s Raja Jalal with 3,891 votes.
In GBLA-8 Skardu-II, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) candidate Kazim Meesam secured victory with 10,658 votes, while PPP’s Syed Muhammad Ali Shah came second with 10,065 votes.
In GBLA-11 Kharmang, PPP candidate Iqbal Hussain led the race with 5,944 votes, ahead of PML-N’s Syed Mohsin Rizvi, who received 4,589 votes.
In GBLA-12 Shigar, PPP’s Imran Nadeem won with 12,944 votes, followed by ITP’s Raja Azam with 8,682 votes, and PML-N’s Tahir Shigri with 6,098 votes.
In GBLA-16 Diamer-II, independent candidate Syed Imam Malik won a close contest with 6,320 votes, narrowly defeating PPP’s Ataullah, who got 6,296 votes.
In GBLA-18 Diamer-IV, PML-N candidate Kifayat-ur-Rehman secured victory with 5,521 votes, while IPP’s Gulbar Khan came second with 4,916 votes.
In GBLA-20 Ghizer-II, PML-N’s Abdul Jehan won with 6,917 votes, while PPP’s Nazir Ahmed received 6,758 votes.
In GBLA-23 Ghanche-II, independent candidate Anwar Ali won with 12,117 votes, ahead of another independent candidate Haji Abdul Hameed, who secured 4,197 votes.
Overall, the results show a tightly contested election, with the PPP maintaining a strong position while PML-N, independent candidates, and other parties also secured important wins across Gilgit-Baltistan.
