Field Marshal Munir, Lebanese army chief discusses regional security changes

RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir met with Rodolphe Haykal, Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Armed Forces, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) to discuss regional security and defence cooperation.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Haykal was welcomed at GHQ with a guard of honour presented by a tri-services contingent.

During the meeting, both military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation, defence cooperation, and ways to strengthen military relations between Pakistan and Lebanon.

The talks focused on increasing professional exchanges, training cooperation, and institutional links between the armed forces of the two countries.

Field Marshal Asim Munir reaffirmed the importance of Pakistan’s longstanding and friendly relationship with Lebanon. He also expressed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to expanding defence cooperation with the Lebanese Armed Forces.

General Haykal praised the professionalism and operational capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their role in promoting regional peace, stability, and international peacekeeping efforts.

According to ISPR, the visit reflects the shared commitment of both countries to further strengthen military-to-military cooperation and bilateral defence ties.
