26 Terrorists Killed, Four Hideouts Destroyed in North Waziristan and Bannu Operation: Atta Tarar
Pakistan’s security forces have killed 26 terrorists in a major intelligence-based operation conducted along the Pak-Afghan border, Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar announced on Wednesday, adding that four key terrorist facilities were also destroyed during the mission.
The operation was launched in direct response to a series of recent terrorist incidents, most notably an assault on a Frontier Corps (FC) post in Musa Darra, as well as other attacks in North Waziristan and Bannu. In a statement posted on X, Tarar said the security forces were mobilized on the basis of highly accurate and credible intelligence that allowed them to pinpoint and strike those responsible for the attacks. He added that the operation successfully dismantled the networks of key commanders and masterminds linked to terrorist activities in the border region.
Tarar stated that four major terrorist infrastructure sites were eliminated during the operation, including training facilities used to prepare future attacks, weapons storage depots, and multiple hideouts and logistical centers spread across the border area. The minister emphasized that the strikes were carried out with exceptional skill and discipline. “The operation was carried out with great skill and precision,” he said.
The information minister further alleged that the targeted terrorists were operating under Indian patronage and had been actively involved in planning and executing attacks against Pakistan’s security forces and civilian population.
Reaffirming the government’s resolve, Tarar said Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts will continue with full force under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” (Determination of Stability) initiative, stressing that the protection of citizens and the preservation of national security remain the government’s foremost priorities. He vowed that security forces would persist in targeting terrorist networks wherever they operate.
