'We Love Pakistan': JD Vance Praises Pakistan's Peace Role
United States Vice President JD Vance praised Pakistan on Sunday during talks in Switzerland, telling a journalist: “We love Pakistan.”
His remark came in response to a question and, though brief, carried significant weight, conveying that Washington holds Islamabad in high regard.
The comment is being seen as an acknowledgment of Pakistan’s diplomatic contribution to regional peace efforts and its role in helping facilitate dialogue between the parties involved. Vance’s words drew notable attention given the backdrop of ongoing diplomatic activity tied to regional peace initiatives.
Separately, the Prime Minister’s Office said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a meeting with an Iranian delegation headed by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The meeting was held on June 21 in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, on the sidelines of US-Iran technical-level talks, and came as a follow-up to the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.
