PM Shehbaz Sharif Vows to Eliminate Terrorism During Balochistan Apex Committee Meeting

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan will continue its fight against terrorism until the “last militant” is eliminated, while addressing a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee in Quetta on Thursday. Referring to recent security incidents in Balochistan, he said police personnel, members of the armed forces, and civilians had been killed over the past four days, adding that security forces had also killed 54 militants during operations.
The prime minister alleged that Pakistan’s “eastern neighbor” was supporting terrorist groups by providing them with funding and weapons. He said the country would use all available resources to defeat terrorism and ensure lasting peace, emphasizing that the political and military leadership would work together to confront the security threat.
Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the sacrifices made by Pakistan’s armed forces, saying they had rendered immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He added that the entire nation stands with the military and stressed that Pakistan’s enemies would not succeed in undermining the country’s stability and international standing.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Quetta, where he was briefed in detail on the law and order situation in Balochistan. Field Marshal Asim Munir, Atta Tarar, Ahad Cheema and Rana Sanaullah accompanied the prime minister during the visit, while Governor Balochistan and Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti were present upon his arrival.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security personnel and martyrs who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He expressed solidarity with the families of the fallen and said that the nation stands firmly with the armed forces and law enforcement agencies.
The prime minister said peace in Balochistan is essential for Pakistan’s stability, progress and prosperity. He reaffirmed that the government would continue its cooperation to eliminate terrorism, adopt a zero-tolerance policy against all forms of militancy, and defeat internal and external terrorist networks through collective efforts.
