PM Shehbaz Sharif, Canadian Leadership Agree to Expand Bilateral Cooperation

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif conveyed his best wishes to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and said he looks forward to meeting him in the near future. During a meeting in Islamabad, Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand thanked the prime minister for the warm welcome and delivered a goodwill message from Prime Minister Carney.

Anand expressed Canada’s interest in exploring new avenues of cooperation with Pakistan across multiple sectors. The two sides also discussed strengthening bilateral ties and enhancing collaboration in areas of mutual interest.

Both countries agreed to exchange delegations to promote cooperation in trade and the minerals sector. They also signed a phytosanitary protocol to facilitate Pakistan’s imports of canola from Canada, marking another step toward expanding economic and agricultural cooperation.
